Saqr files charges against Army assailants in Sidon

BEIRUT: Military Prosecutor Judge Saqr Saqr filed charges Thursday against individuals who allegedly took part in last month’s attack on the Lebanese Army in the coastal city of Sidon.

The judge charged unidentified individuals with committing terrorist acts, possessing arms and explosive material as well as murdering Army personnel. He referred the case to the first military investigative judge.

The Army said last month that twin suicide attacks against separate military posts in Sidon killed an officer and wounded a soldier.
