BEIRUT: A pregnant woman was severely beaten Friday morning by her husband and his relatives in the northern city of Tripoli over losing a water bill, security sources told The Daily Star.
Two-month and a half pregnant Fatima al-Nashar, was beaten by her husband Bilal Sultan, his brother Othman and her mother-in-law Naimeh Kasha, the sources said.
The sources added that her in-laws and husband attacked her for allegedly losing a water bill.
Nashar was admitted to a local hospital in Tripoli.
The hospital said later during the day that she is in a stable condition and that the embryo is fine.
