Two students killed in Bekaa Valley crash

BEIRUT: Two students were killed in a deadly car accident in the Bekaa Valley town of Sereen Monday morning. According to the state-run National News Agency, a private car crashed into a school van carrying students from the town of Khodor to the Zahra School. At least a dozen others, mostly students, were wounded in the accident and transported to the Rayak Hospital in the Bekaa Valley. Also Monday, two people were killed in a car accident on the main highway between Halba and Qobeiyat in the northern Akkar district.

Fayez Nassour and his wife Aisha al-Hosni perished in the crash, and six others were wounded in the collision between a van and two cars.

Four ambulances and a Civil Defense vehicle transported the victims, one of whom was a 6-year-old child, to the Akkar Rahal Hospital and the Youssef Hospital Center in Halba. The bodies were transported to the Abdullah Rasi Government Hospital. According to the agency, some of the injured were in serious condition.
