Hariri undergoes successful surgery

BEIRUT: Former Prime Minister Saad Hariri underwent Thursday morning a successful surgery in Paris, a statement from his office said.

Hariri, who heads the Future Movement, underwent an hour-long laparoscopic cholecystectomy at the American Hospital in Paris, the statement said.

Hariri’s doctor said the operation was successful and that the former PM will remain hospitalized for 24 hours for observation.
