SIDON, Lebanon: Police arrested Friday a “dangerous” man wanted for drug dealing in south Lebanon, security sources told The Daily Star.

Amid Abdullah Bashir, a Palestinian wanted by authorities, was caught red-handed by the anti-drug department while he was promoting and selling drugs in Rmeileh, in the Chouf, north of the southern coastal city of Sidon.

After he sensed police members were approaching him, Bashir tried to flee, the sources said. But security forces opened fire in the air and were able to arrest him, the sources added.

The suspect has several judicial warrants against him related to the sale of drugs.
