BEIRUT: A former Progressive Socialist Party official who was found dead in Mount Lebanon Thursday was likely killed for personal reasons, security sources told The Daily Star.
Speaking on condition of anonymity Friday, the sources said Sami Marroush’s death did not appear linked to politics.
The sources said authorities were working on several promising leads.
The body of Marroush, 50, was found bearing two gunshots wounds in an area in Aley which he usually visited for strolling.
The sources said CCTV cameras in the area have videotaped a car suspected to have been used by the perpetrators which would help investigators.
