Militant group claims Hermel rocket attack

HERMEL, Lebanon: Five rockets from Syria hit the northeastern region of Hermel Saturday, according to a security source, and was claimed by a group affiliated with the Nusra Front in Lebanon and Abdullah Azzam Brigades.

The rockets were fired from the eastern mountain range in Syria and struck different parts of the Hermel region, causing only material damage, the source said.

In a jointly signed statement, the Nusra Front in Lebanon and Abdullah Azzam Brigades said the Marwan Hadid Brigades, one of their affiliates, claimed responsibility.
