Fire at Beirut sponge factory

BEIRUT: A fire erupted at a sponge factory in the Beirut neighborhood of Sabra Monday, a Civil Defense official told The Daily Star.

Civil Defense dispatched 12 fire trucks to the area to put out the blaze near the Rafik Hariri Center for healthcare services.

The incident caused heavy traffic in several areas in Al-Tariq al-Jadideh, according to the Traffic Management Center.
