BEIRUT: Kuwaiti Emir Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmad Al-Sabah voiced Tuesday readiness to help Lebanon overcome its problems, the Arab ruler was quoted as saying in a statement from the office of former Prime Minister Fouad Siniora.
“Kuwait is always ready to help Lebanon overcome the problems that it is facing,” Sheikh Sabah told Siniora, according to the statement.
“We hope Lebanon remains stable and moves forward to development and progress in the next phase. Kuwait is willing to do anything it is asked of to help Lebanon and the Lebanese,” the Kuwaiti ruler said.
For his part, Siniora thanked “the state of Kuwait which has always stood by Lebanon in all stages and has supported Lebanon and the Lebanese people in all fields.”
Siniora is in Kuwait as a guest of honor for the opening of the fifth Annual Conference of Governance Institutes for Training in the Middle East and North Africa.
