BEIRUT: A Lebanese man wanted for “opening fire” was arrested in Baalbek, east Lebanon, the Army said in a statement Tuesday.
The military said Hasan Ali al-Miqdad was apprehended Monday after soldiers in the Baalbek village of Harabta stopped a black Chevrolet SUV in which he was a passenger.
The driver, Hasan Ahmad al-Miqdad, was also arrested, the statement said.
Three assault rifles, three pistols and five hand grenades, in addition to ammunition and military gear, were seized from the vehicle, the Army said, adding that the men were referred to the relevant authorities.
