BEIRUT: The Lebanese Army Thursday confiscated ammunition that soldiers found on board a car in the northeastern border town of Arsal, security sources said.

The vehicle, a Renault Rapid, was intercepted at the town’s entrance, the sources told The Daily Star.

The driver was of Lebanese nationality, they said, adding that he was detained for questioning.

The border town hosts a large population of refugees due to the ongoing conflict in neighboring Syria.
