BEIRUT: Terrorist acts in Lebanon only serve Israel, said Lebanese Democratic Party leader Talal Arslan from Iran.

“Terrorist acts serve the Israeli enemy and aim to damage stability and co-existence in Lebanon,” said Arslan, referring to recent bombings in the country.

His comments were carried by Lebanon’s National News Agency.

Arslan, who is on a visit to Iran, held talks with Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani. During the hour-and-a-half meeting the two discussed developments in the region and in Lebanon.

Arslan also hailed “the efforts of Iran in helping Lebanon and its resistance [Hezbollah] to liberate Lebanon from Israel.”

He also praised Iran’s support to the Syrian government and for its ongoing efforts to find a political solution to the nearly three-year-old crisis.

Arslan is on an official visit to Iran after being invited by Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif.
