Heroin dealer arrested in Beirut southern suburbs

BEIRUT: A suspected Lebanese heroin dealer based in the southern suburbs of Beirut was arrested earlier this week in Hay el-Sellom, a police statement said Thursday.

The statement said M.S., 21, was arrested Wednesday after the central anti-drug bureau in Beirut received information about drug activity in the southern suburbs.

The statement said police seized about 60 grams of heroin, packed in 23 nylon bags, found in the man’s possession.

It said the suspected drug dealer turned out to be wanted on three arrest warrants for robberies and pick pocketing.
