Lebanon road accident leaves 4 dead, 23 injured

TRIPOLI: A devastating crash Friday between a commuter mini-bus and a truck on the Minjiz-Akkar road in north Lebanon left four people dead, including two women, and 23 injured, several of them seriously.

Among the fatalities were Naaman Hasan Ibrahim, Marwa al-Ali and Fatmeh Diab, security sources said.

Of the 23 injured, 17 were hospitalized and later released.

The sources said the truck driver fled after the 7 a.m. crash.

The owner of the mini-bus that was smashed up in the accident was identified by his family name al-Naaman. He comes from the northern village of Akroum.
