BEIRUT: A dispute between a man and his son led to a standoff and shootout between the two family members that left the 25-year-old son dead and the father wounded.
A security source told The Daily Star that the gunfight occurred between Mohammad Hasan Ayyoub against his son, Omar, in Rihan, in the northern region of Dinnieh.
Financial issues and a dispute over inheritance sparked Tuesday morning shootout, the source added.
The dispute between the two degenerated when they exchanged gunfire. Omar Ayyoub shot his father, wounding him, and Mohammad retaliated by killing his son.
Omar was killed instantly, while his father was taken to hospital.
