BEIRUT: The Lebanese Army Tuesday said Israeli jets violated Lebanon's airspace by flying over Lebanese territorial waters and dropping heat balloons.

In a statement, the military said that between 9 p.m. and 9:40 p.m., the Israeli air force violated Lebanon's space over the territorial waters near Ras Naqoura.

The violation, one of many on a weekly basis, contrives to U.N. Security Council Resolution 1701.
