BEIRUT: Head of the Free Patriotic Movement Michel Aoun Thursday sent letters to the Saudi and the Moroccan kings.

On behalf of Aoun, the head of Diplomatic Relations in the FPM Michel de Shadaravian visited the Saudi, Moroccan and Algerian embassies, and handed their envoys letters from the former General to the Saudi king, the Moroccan king and the Algerian president.

The statement did not reveal the content of the messages.

Aoun has mended ties with Saudi Arabia in the past two years, and has been trying to convince Riyadh that he is the best presidential candidate to fill the void in Lebanon’s top Christian post.
