Arrest warrant issued for Syrian ‘recruiting’ rebels

BEIRUT: Military Investigative Judge Imad Zein Thursday issued an arrest warrant for a Syrian man who allegedly recruited his fellow countrymen to attack Syrian regime forces. 

A judicial source told The Daily Star that Zein also accused the Syrian national of recruiting men to carry out suicide attacks against Syrian army checkpoints and other military posts for Syrian President Bashar Assad’s forces inside Syria. Zein also charged the suspect with belonging to the radical Islamic State of Iraq and Greater Syria.
