BEIRUT: Hezbollah MP Nawwaf Musawi called Sunday for quick legislative action to pass the ranks and salary scale and expressed confidence that Hamas will defeat the Israeli army’s operations in Gaza.
“Officials must get over their preconceptions and take the initiative to launch legislative work in order to pass the ranks and salaries scale,” Musawi said, during a celebration at the southern village of Aitit commemorating the 2006 Israeli war on Lebanon.
“We are today on the brink of issuing the official exams’ results, on which depends the destiny of our students,” he said, calling on the authorities to prioritize the people’s needs.
Musawi stated that Parliament members have the duty to pass the law allowing Cabinet to spend from the public budget without referring to “methods that are legally contested.”
Separately, the Hezbollah spokesman said he is confident that Gaza’s armed resistant groups will be able to achieve victory against the recent Israeli offense on the strip.
“Today, Gaza is able to achieve victory similar to our victory in 2006, based its possessions of rockets and its fighting capacities that have accumulated over the years,” he said.
“We are confident that this sad scene will end with victory, with a celebration for all the free people of the world,” he continued.
Musawi added that any Israeli attempt to perform a ground attack on Gaza will face failure, saying that Hamas’ military capabilities are enough to stop such operations.
“A ground Israeli invasion of Gaza will note the beginning of [the Palestinian resistance]’s victory,” he said.
