Burglars arrested north of Beirut

BEIRUT: Police arrested a gang of burglars in northern Metn on Monday, after a series of housebreaks targeted several residences in the region.

The Internal Security Forces released a statement on Monday saying that investigation conducted by the judicial police has led to the arrest of the perpetrators. The detainees are of Lebanese nationality and are all in their early twenties, the statement said.

According to the ISF, the detainees confessed to forming a gang for the purpose of robbing houses and of selling some of the stolen goods.

The ISF statement also revealed that some of the stolen goods have been retrieved and returned to their rightful owners. The investigation is ongoing under the supervision of the concerned judicial authorities, the ISF said.
