BEIRUT: The Lebanese Army said over the weekend that it arrested four wanted suspects in Beirut’s southern suburbs on shooting charges.
The four had arrest warrants against them for several different shootings, a statement by the Army’s General Directorate said.
Soldiers who apprehended the four also confiscated ammunition and military gear which was in the suspects’ possession.
Separately, the Army also over the weekend said it had detained 900 people of various nationalities in the month of May.
In a statement, the military said the arrests came as part of measures taken to impose security in various Lebanese regions.
