Police arrest alleged suburb rapist

BEIRUT: Police arrested an alleged serial rapist in the Beirut suburb of Aramoun, the Internal Security Forces said in a statement Tuesday night.

The statement said the alleged rapist assaulted women in the Aramoun area and robbed them at gunpoint.

The police also confiscated two cars the man used to carry out his crimes.

The ISF intervened after several women in the Aramoun area, south of Beirut, lodged harassment complaints against the man. The man was said to have terrorized the area and confined women to their homes past a certain hour.
