BEIRUT: A meeting of the parliamentary Finance and Budget Committee was scrapped Tuesday after Future bloc MPs criticized the selection process.

The committee was scheduled to meet under Change and Reform MP Ibrahim Kanaan to discuss two loans allocated for the Education Ministry and Electricite Du Liban.

However, Future MPs complained about the process to set the agenda, arguing that the number of draft laws that required study amounted to 69.

The bills were carried forward from previous years under the former government of Prime Minister Fouad Siniora.

Future MPs Ahmad Fatfat, Jamal Jarrah, Atef Majdalani and Kazem al-Kheir were seen walking out of the meeting in protest.
