Five Beirut Port employees charged for bribery

BEIRUT: Financial Prosecutor Judge Ali Ibrahim Monday charged five employees of Beirut Port’s Customs Department with bribery and embezzlement, a judicial source said. 

The case was referred to Beirut’s First Investigative Judge Ghassan Oweidat. According to the source, the five employees had received bribes from merchants to smuggle in their imports without the legal Customs duties.
