BEIRUT: Police Tuesday foiled an attempted smuggling after discovering drugs hidden inside the shoes of a visitor to a Tripoli prison, the Internal Security Forces said.
A.Q, 27, was attempting to smuggle 1.7g of cocaine, 1.5g of heroin, 8.5g of marijuana, and 125 Benzhexol and Captagon pills, to a prisoner in Tripoli's Al-Qebbe prison, an ISF statement said.
The suspect was detained and placed under interrogation.
The police carried its investigations monitored by the specialized judiciary, the statement added.
