Female inmates get beauty training at Baabda prison

BEIRUT: Some 20 inmates at Baabda prison for women successfully completed a four-month beauty-training workshop Tuesday, according to a statement by non-governmental organization Dar al-Amal.

The professional workshop, organized by Dar al-Amal and Jane Nassar Institute, gave participants the chance to gain experience in makeup and nail care.

The ladies were presented with their certificates in a ceremony attended by the prison’s director-general and ISF representative Ghassan Othman as well as officials from human rights organizations.

During the ceremony, the director of Dar al-Amal, Huda Kara, thanked the ISF and the institute for their support. “We also thank the Social Affairs Ministry for helping prisoners find jobs during their time in prison and following their release.”
