Two suspects linked to terror-related cases grilled

BEIRUT: Military Investigative Judge Fadi Sawwan interrogated Wednesday two unidentified suspects linked to terrorism-related cases.

The two men are related to Naim Abbas, a detained suspect believed to be a senior figure of the Abdallah Azzam Brigades. Sawwan issued two arrest warrants for the two unidentified men and two arrest warrants in absentia for Rahme Taha and Youssef al-Shabaytah.

Separately, Jamal Daftardar, thought to be a member of the brigades, couldn’t attend his interrogation session due to bad health. It was rescheduled for Monday.

The Central News Agency reported that security and surveillance has been boosted recently in the Palestinian refugee camp of Ain al-Hilweh, which is believed to harbor cells belonging to the Abdallah Azzam Brigades.

A security source told CNA that wanted figures in the camp like Toufic Taha, Ziad Abu Naaj and Ousama Shahadeh have tightened personal security measures in response.
