One killed, others injured on rain-slick roads

BEIRUT: One person was killed and several others injured Sunday in a number of road accidents across the country as a result of rainy weather, the Traffic Management Center reported.

On the Nabatieh road, south Lebanon, a truck slipped and crashed into an electricity pole, killing one person and injuring three who were on board the vehicle.

Three people were injured in a car accident on Darb al-Slim, south Lebanon.

Another car flipped over on the Khaldeh highway connecting Sidon to Beirut while three minor accidents occurred in the capital, according to TMC.

In the coastal city of Sidon, three car accidents were reported.

After several weeks of drought, this week will witness heavy rains and a drop in temperatures in Beirut, the north and the eastern region.
