Beirut airport foils cocaine smuggling attempt

BEIRUT: Authorities at Rafik Hariri International Airport in Beirut foiled an attempt to smuggle approximately 6 kilograms of cocaine into Lebanon Tuesday.

During luggage inspection, authorities discovered six kilograms and 100 grams of cocaine stashed in two briefcases belonging to a 25-year-old Brazilian man coming from Abu Dhabi.

The man, who was identified by his initials, K.F., was referred to the anti-drug department of the Internal Security Forces for interrogation.
