Army searches refugee camp for arms, fugitives

BEIRUT: The Lebanese Army Wednesday searched an informal Syrian refugee camp in the Bekaa Valley for guns, bombs and Syrian fugitives, a security source said.

The source said the large-scale search operation in Al-Marj, east Lebanon, was a “precautionary measure for maintaining peace in the refugee camp.”

The source said soldiers had a list of several Syrian men “wanted by authorities in Syria.” It was not clear whether any arrests were made.
