BEIRUT: Hezbollah Friday denied media reports linking it to a senior terrorist suspect and accusations that it appointed a lawyer to defend him during investigations and in court.
“Hezbollah emphasizes that this news is not true, and it denies accordingly this allegation and considers it a clear fabrication,” a statement issued by the party said.
Jamal Daftardar, who was arrested in December, was charged along with 12 others of belonging to the al-Qaeda-linked Abudallah Azzam Brigades and Nusra Front with the aim of carrying out terrorist attacks. The other 12 remain at large.
