BEIRUT: Foreign Minister Gebran Bassil said Sunday that Lebanon would open its doors to expatriates, especially those looking to restore Lebanese nationality.
“One of the priorities on the top of my agenda at the ministry is to open doors for expatriates, especially those who want to restore Lebanese nationality,” Bassil said to mark Lebanese Expatriates Day.
“Expatriates should play an influential role drawing up the political future of the country by enjoying the right to vote, meaning e-voting should be a reality, so that they can elect MPs that can represent them.”
There are millions more Lebanese expatriates around the world than there are residents in the country.
