Video warns Lebanese not to think like sheep

  • A YouTube grab shows a flock of sheep

BEIRUT: A YouTube video parodying the political atmosphere amid the foundering presidential election is making the rounds on social media, warning the Lebanese not to be sheep by blindly following political leaders.

The video depicts a group of sheep, none of whom seem to know where they are or how they got there.

“So...” says one sheep to another.

"So what?" says the second.

“They told me to come, so I came."

“I saw you coming so I came.”

“What about you?”

“Me? I followed him.”

The video concludes with the message: “If they are rams, we do not have to be sheep."

The video was released by a campaign titled “In the Name of the People” launched by the LBCI television program "Kalam al-Nas."

The video is aimed at pressuring Parliament to elect a new president within the constitutional deadline, before the expiration of President Michel Sleiman's term on May 25.
