SIDON, Lebanon: Authorities late Saturday discovered a fetus washed up on the shore of the southern city of Sidon and a probe is underway to determine the circumstances behind the incident.
A security source told The Daily Star that the fetus was spotted a few meters away from the water with some local media saying it was months old, suggesting the body was the result of an abortion in late stages.
The source, speaking on condition of anonymity, suggested that a clinic might have disposed of the fetus after an illegal abortion.
