Police raid house in Tripoli, confiscate arms

Police confiscates weapons from apartment in Tripoli, north Lebanon on Wednesday May 14, 2014.

TRIPOLI, Lebanon: Lebanon’s police raided the house of a man in the Tripoli neighborhood of Abi Samra Wednesday and confiscated arms and missiles from the apartment, security sources said.

The man, identified as Firas Nashar, resides on the second floor of the Mousali building, the sources said.

Nashar was detained by the security forces.

A security plan was implemented in April in Tripoli, ending unrest in the city caught in intermittent violence linked to the Syria crisis for over three years.
