Kidnappers release one of two Iraqis held in Bekaa Valley

BEIRUT: An Iraqi businessman kidnapped in east Lebanon’s Bekaa Valley was released overnight after ransom was paid, but the kidnappers are demanding a bigger ransom for his relative, a security source said Thursday.

The source told The Daily Star that Wael Jbouri was released late Wednesday after relatives paid $50,000.

However, the kidnappers keep Jbouri’s relative captive, demanding $200,000 for his release, the source added.
