BEIRUT: Three Lebanese citizens and a Syrian national have been arrested for offenses including drug trafficking, robbery and fraud, police said Tuesday.
A statement issued by the Internal Security Forces said an investigation by the Anti-Drug Bureau led to the arrest of two men identified as T.S., a 21-year-old Syrian, and J.KH., 44, a Lebanese national.
The statement said 2.8 kilograms of marijuana, 63 grams of cocaine and 10 Captagon pills found in their possession had been seized.
They said the Lebanese man had already been charged with assaulting policemen.
In a separate statement, the ISF said police in the Bekaa Valley also apprehended two Lebanese men Monday in the village of Sareen.
They said Z.M., 41 had 13 warrants out for his arrest, on charges varying from robbery to fraud.
The statement said H.A., 52, was wanted on three arrest warrants. He is also on the Interpol wanted list for drug trafficking, police added.
