BEIRUT: Speaker Nabih Berri Thursday set a legislative session to “discuss and approve” a controversial public salary scale for May 27.

A statement from Berri’s office said the meeting, scheduled for 10:30 a.m., would be open until midnight.

Discussions on the wage raise were adjourned last week after MPs failed to agree on how to finance it.
