BEIRUT: Two people, including a one-year-old boy, were killed and four others wounded in a traffic accident on the Jeita-Zouk Mosbeh road Monday.
A security source told The Daily Star that the boy, Charbel Saliba, a Syrian national, suffered from serious injuries and died shortly after arriving at the hospital.
His mother, Maria, and Hanadi Saliba, a relative, were injured after their Mercedes-Benz was wrecked in a collision with a Range Rover.
The source said that the other victim, a Lebanese man in his 60s, was killed when his separate Mercedes-Benz was destroyed in a head-on collision with the same Range Rover.
The man was in the company of Lebanese national Elie Saliba (no relation) and Maroun Antoun, who were both injured.
The individuals in the two Mercedes vehicles were heading down the highway from Jeita to Zouk Mosbeh when the accident took place at 3 a.m.
