14 arrested in Army raid northeast of Beirut

BEIRUT: The Lebanese Army arrested 14 individuals – eight Lebanese and six Syrians – seizing weapons, grenades and drugs in a large bust in Sabtiyeh, a town in the Metn area northeast of Beirut, Tuesday night.

In a statement released Wednesday, the Army said a “quantity of drugs, light weapons and ammunition, grenades, in addition to money, military fatigues, communication devices and forged identity cards,” had been confiscated during the nighttime raid.

It said the suspects were referred to the relevant authorities for further interrogation.
