BEIRUT: The Internal Security Forces Monday arrested a 22-year-old man for impersonating public officials, and called on his victims to report their cases to the judicial police.

The suspect, identified by his initials Z.H., had “delusively promised citizens to employ them in public administrations, institutions, and security forces ... in return of huge amounts of money," said an ISFstatement released Friday.

A large number of people were taken in by the act, many of whom recognized the suspect. During interrogations, the suspect confessed to have committed the crimes, according the statement.

The ISF’s general directorate asked citizens who have fallen victim to the fraud to report to the southern suburbs’ judicial police headquarters in Ouzai or call 01-842-403 or 01-842-405.
