In an atmosphere of sadness, Nisrine Rouhana was laid to rest Thursday in her hometown, Beslaya, after being murdered in a shocking act of domestic violence. Rouhana, 38, was shot dead earlier this week by her estranged husband Jean Deeb, who then threw her body in the Nahr Ibrahim Valley in Mount Lebanon. Rouhana's motorcade arrived at the village, whose entrance was decorated with white ribbons, as the bells of St. Maroun Church began to ring.Rouhana's mother Therese and her sisters Rita and Kareen accompanied her body as it was transferred from Kesrouan's Bwar Hospital to Beslaya. Inside the church, the body was shrouded and family and locals crowded in to hear a Mass led by Pastor Naim Hajj before Rouhana was laid to rest in the cemetery.Rouhana's mother struggled to stop her tears from flowing.
