The Nusra Front Monday said that it has suspended plans to execute Lebanese captives due to the mediation of salafist preachers who allegedly brokered a deal to end the weekend violence in Tripoli, despite the Army's insistence that no truce was reached.A Lebanese security source earlier Monday was cited by Anadolu news agency as saying that Hujeiri, nicknamed Abu Takieh, traveled to Syria's border region of Qalamoun Sunday night to urge the captors to spare the life of Ali Bazzal, who is among 27 troops and policemen held hostage by the Nusra Front and ISIS.The captors had earlier threatened to execute Bazzal at 5 a.m. Monday after accusing the Lebanese Army of failing to meet their demand that the Army ends an offensive against jihadist militants in north Lebanon.
