BEIRUT: A man suspected of planting a bomb in the northern city of Tripoli last month was arrested Thursday, a security source told The Daily Star.

The man, identified as Ayman Samih Murad, is accused of placing the homemade bomb under the Al-Khannaq Bridge in Tripoli. The explosion killed one person and wounded at least 10 others.

The blast happened approximately 30 meters away from a Lebanese Army post, raising suspicion that the bomber's intended target was the military.
