Hezbollah Secretary-General Sayyed Hasan Nasrallah voiced his total backing for MP Michel Aoun regarding the presidential election during a recent meeting between the two leaders, sources close to Aoun told The Daily Star Tuesday.Commenting on Nasrallah's meeting with Aoun, one of the sources close to the Free Patriotic Movement leader said the Hezbollah chief reiterated to Aoun that the party backed any decision the latter made regarding the presidency. The sources added that Nasrallah informed Aoun that he must take his time formulating a decision as there was "no rush". A presidential candidate, Aoun is backed by the March 8 coalition and strongly opposed by March 14 rivals who support Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea. In a statement after its weekly meeting, the bloc said that it had proposed an initiative earlier this month along with its March 14 allies voicing the coalition's readiness to agree on a presidential candidate other than Aoun and Geagea.
