"The main item in the program is to provide financial assistance worth a third of the minimum wage to every family under the poverty line, in return for its compliance with three conditions," Fadel explained.First, the parents should agree to send all children in their care to schools, while second, adults in the family should attend capacity-building training sessions in order to gain new skills to help them better compete in the job market. According to Fadel, the last couple of years have proven that the poorest areas are also the least stable, which means that dealing with poverty should adopt "new approaches and new ideas".Fadel has submitted the draft law proposing the project with an urgent status because he believes Lebanon needs to start treating the deeper origins of its social and security problems.Calling on all parliamentary blocs to support his initiative and approve the draft law, he explained that he had met with the majority of officials, all of whom showed excitement about the project and understanding of its "urgent" status.
