The Cabinet approved Thursday a request by the Interior Ministry to recruit 500 new officers to General Security during its weekly session. The session was described by many ministers as "normal". Thursday's meeting came two days after ministers met in a special session that ended in a dispute over combining the 2015 draft budget with the public sector salary scale.As approved by Mikati's government, the salary scale would cost LL1.7 trillion.Machnouk insisted however that the Cabinet would discuss and approve the draft budget.
