The Trade Union Unity list Wednesday swept the Editors Syndicate elections, which were marred by boycotts, disputes and accusations of political interference.Aoun received 272 votes, Wassef Awada took 258, Nafez Kawwas garnered 253, Ali Youssef 244 received votes, Youssef Diab collected 241, George al-Kosseifi received 258, George Bkassini took 229, May Chehab took 241, Said Nassereddine earned 254, Scarlet Haddad received 256, George Chahine took 264 and May Abboud Abi Akil obtained 264 .Canditates who performed most poorly in the election included Younes al-Sayyed with 16 votes, and Antoine Chidiac with 13 . The ballot also included 11 blank votes and 6 invalidated votes.Only one list comprised mostly of independent candidates had challenged the Trade Union Unity coalition.
