Lebanon's ministers lived up to expectation by again failing to reach any decisions during the weekly Cabinet meeting Thursday. After reading the official statement, Joreige explained that Free Patriotic Movement ministers had raised the issue of appointing top Army brass as a priority during the session. The unproductive session irked several ministers who claimed that the paralysis was preventing Cabinet from making vital decisions.Another statement likely to have provoked Aoun was made by Justice Minister Ashraf Rifi, another Future Movement affiliate, prior to the meeting.Outside of the political circus, the environment minister had hoped to discuss the waste file at the session, while Social Affairs Minister Rashid Derbas had said ministers would discuss "donations," referring to aid packages that his ministry has been offered by international donors, which require Cabinet's approval.
