Saudi Arabia's ambassador to Lebanon Ali Awad Assiri Thursday denied that his country proposed any deal for Marada Movement leader Sleiman Frangieh to become president, insisting the issue was purely a Lebanese affair.Frangieh has been seen as a strong potential candidate for the presidency since his reported meeting with Future Movement leader Saad Hariri in Paris last month.Although he has not been officially nominated yet, Frangieh has earned the backing of the Progressive Socialist Party, but is facing opposition from the country's three main Christian parties: the Free Patriotic Movement, the Lebanese Forces and the Kataeb.
